Kate Braid led a discussion during the 'women in trades' day. She involved the females in the audience by asking if they were happy with their existing jobs, and if they ever considered a job in trades.

Marjorie Griffin Cohen spoke on the successful recruitment of female and First Nations for the Vancouver Island Highway Project. She examines the culture of construction, which is generally a struggle for women and First Nations people to integrate into. As well, the experience of the workers and the political action that made it all happen were also addressed.
