Abstract
Digital version of cross-sections in Figure 3.11 and Figure 3.12, Chapter 3 of the thesis "Integrated Facies Analysis and Stratigraphic Architecture of Cretaceous McMurray Formation and Wabiskaw Member of the Clearwater Formation, Ells River Paleovalley, NE Alberta, Canada".
A-A': Cross-section from NW-SE across inferred depositional strike highlighting proximal portion of deltaic and shoreface deposits along the Grosmont High with regard to Wabiskaw A strata. Wabiskaw D strata demonstrates a complex interplay of deltaic deposits along strike in the NW and proximal embayed deposits in the SE.
B-B’: Cross-section from NW-SE across inferred depositional strike highlighting distal portions of deltaic and shoreface deposits with regard to Wabiskaw A strata. Wabiskaw D strata demonstrates a complex interplay of deltaic deposits along strike in the NW and largely distal embayed deposits in the SE.
C-C': Cross-section from W-E across inferred depositional dip highlighting proximal to distal trends of deltaic deposits with regard to Wabiskaw A strata. Wabiskaw D strata demonstrates a complex interplay of deltaic deposits along depositional dip.
D-D’: Cross-section from W-E across inferred depositional dip highlighting proximal to distal trends of largely shoreface deposits with regard to Wabiskaw A strata. Wabiskaw D strata demonstrates a shift from proximal embayed facies and localized deltaic development to predominantly distal embayed facies along depositional dip. Note that the base of channels in the Wabiskaw D strata demarcate tidal ravinement surfaces (TRS).
Note: The suffix -W has been removed from the facies associations for these figures.
