Abstract
OpenSpot is developing a smart parking systemconsisting ofcomputer vision, light indicators,and a website with real-time spot specific statuses.The system is packaged in a discrete hardware module to be mountedon existing light poles whichensures complete coverage andeasy installation for alow entry to barriersolution. The LED light indicator informs drivers about the current density of parkedcarsaround thelight poles. Thisgivesdrivers an understandingof how easy or difficult it may be to find a vacant spotand guide them to take calculated risksin terms of time spent seeking a parking stall.

Undergraduate Engineering students are required to complete a group-based, two-course capstone sequence: ENSC 405W and ENSC 440.  Groups form company structures and create an innovative product that potentially acts as a solution to a real-life problem.  This collection archives the following assignments: proposal, design specifications, requirements specifications, and proof of concept.
