Abstract
The Underwater Research Lab (URL) operates autonomous submersibles in fresh water lakes in British Columbia for research purposes. These submersibles are extremely expensive and should one of the submersibles be disabled during a mission, finding the submersible would be virtually impossible. These submersibles are equipped with pinger relocation beacons, which activates when the submersible is disabled.Sonic Salvage Industries (SSI) has been commissioned to produce a pinger locator with which to find a disabled submersible. The pinger locator will be hand-held and will guide the user to the disabled submersible through visual cues provided on the user interface.
