Abstract
The objective of our project is to develop a tracking mechanism. For demonstration purposes, we have chosen to design a dentist's light or an automated spotlight. Our new and improved dentist's light knows how to get around the blocked body parts of the dentist and keeps the light focused on the patient's teeth. This way, the dentist can focus on his/her job. In a similar manner, the spotlight would follow the performer's location around the stage. Instead of controlling the spotlight manually, it can be automated using the tracking system, which saves manpower and also gives a more accurate positioning of the spotlight.
