Abstract
Aqua Ichiban Innovations is a group focused on aiding the efforts of the StreamKeepers Program in watershed management and stream enhancement. The StreamKeepers Program is a government initiative to support volunteers in the protection and restoration of aquatic habitats in British Columbia. The program provides various projects and activities for volunteers to undertake. Data collected from these activities are submitted to a database that provides information to various agencies monitoring watershed health in British Columbia. Our goal is to design and implement a device that will help count the spawning salmon and provide addition information on top of that already collected for the survey. By incorporating our device into the existing counting methodology, we will be able to develop an improved method of counting spawning salmon resulting in more comprehensive and accurate data.
