Abstract
The AquaScan is a prototype sonar system which serves as a testbed for the research, development, and evaluation of proof-of-concept analog receivers with an optimal signal-tonoise ratio (SNR) and coherent diffuse ratio (CDR) subject to cost constraints. It aims to demonstrate that a qualified 3D sidescan sonar system for the masses is attainable using analog techniques for the receiver module, as opposed to field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) and digital signal processors (DSPs) which can be more expensive, albeit better performing.

Description
Undergraduate Engineering students are required to complete a group-based, two-course capstone sequence: ENSC 405W and ENSC 440.  Groups form company structures and create an innovative product that potentially acts as a solution to a real-life problem.  This collection archives the following assignments: proposal, design specifications, requirements specifications, and proof of concept.
