Abstract
The ShutSmart is a safety add-on for electrically operated stoves used throughout North America. The purpose of this product is to incorporate a mechanism in a stove safety system, which would prevent the occurrence of any mishaps due to unattended stoves. It detects unattended stoves and initially alerts the user through audio/visual feedback. If this fails to alert the user, ShutSmart overrides the stove system and cuts off the power to the stove.
