Abstract
Flud is a lawn pest deterrent that sprays unwanted animals with water to prevent destruction of a yard. The goal to find effective methods of deterring pests but not deterring humans. Flud is driven by three main components: a camera to recognize different animals, a microcontroller to process recognition of animals and humans, and a nozzle to direct water at a target animal. The user will interact with the device by a web-based application that monitors the device's status and configures its settings.
