Abstract
This thesis deconstructs the field of cultural production by examining contemporary institutional framework of the arts and symbolic struggles that occur in effort to maintain or subvert established alignment of power. I will :qye that the field of cultural production today resembles a market structure with increasing demands on all agents in the field for internationalization and globahation. Cultural producers today assert their autonomy and adapt to current structure of the art institutiond framework by appropriating recent technological developments. I argue that cultural producers today challenge estaldished framework of the field of cultural production by the particular appropriation of the Internet and its possibilities. This work will introduce changing cultural politics of the art world, and provide an informed inquiry on an emerging phenomenon of on-line based nomadic digital art galleries.
