Abstract
This video provides an oral history of the first few years of SFU as seen through the eyes of staff, charter students, admnistrators and faculty. They describe the excitement and the pioneer spirit of those times as well as the challenges. The innovative approaches to teaching and faculty appointments created a different kind of university would offer a new beginning for its participants. It combines interviews of thirteen students, staff and faculty from the 1965-1969 period. Speakers in the video are Ron Baker, Win Caldwell, Marilyn Cairns, Roy Carlson, Harry Evans, Thelma Finlayson, Allen Garr, Maurice Gibbons, Malcolm Page, Klaus Rieckhoff, Stan Smith, Hal Weinberg and Stan Wong.
