Abstract
The paper uses three bodies of literature – innovation systems, knowledge/information society, and cluster studies – to explore the commonalities between three groups of indicators – innovation, human capital and adoption of information and communication technologies (ICTs). The final objective of the paper is looking for new paths for designing new innovation indicators that better explain innovation processes.
