Abstract
For her silkscreened poster "He Didn’t Ask Her" Allyson Clay ironically uses a male voice to express how Patriarchy has controlled the exhibition and dissemination of art by women and, by extension, also controlled the opportunity for criticism and interpretation. Like many posters by the feminist group Guerrilla Girls, Clay’s poster is striking and uses bold pink text against a black ground.
