Abstract
Human pulmonary ventilation and the hyperoxic-centrally mediated ventilatory response to CO2 were studied before and after a 10-day passive heat acclimation (HA). It was hypothesized pulmonary ventilation during a passively- or actively-induced hyperthermia would adapt similarily to thermolytic heat loss responses and that chemosensitivity would be increased following HA.
